About the artist
Hi there, I’m Erika!
Light and Line is a reflection of my love for art, people, and the quiet moments that connect us. I was born and raised in Greater Western Sydney, where my appreciation for beauty and creativity first began - and has continued to grow ever since.
I was introduced to watercolour at a young age, when my friends and family, who always encouraged my creativity, gifted me my first set of paints for my tenth birthday. I was immediately drawn to the vibrancy of the pigments and the gentle way colour moves across the page. From that moment on, watercolour became my favourite medium, and I spent countless hours learning, experimenting, and refining my craft.
In my late teens, my focus naturally shifted towards portraiture. I became deeply inspired by human connection - the shared glances, subtle expressions, and fleeting emotions that make each person unique. Today, I love capturing those moments through shape, form, colour, light, and line, creating artwork that feels both expressive and intimate.
When I’m not painting, you’ll usually find me off on an adventure, enjoying a quiet night on the couch with my partner and our dogs, working through one of the many craft projects I always seem to have on the go, reading a good book, or adding to my ever‑growing tattoo collection.
